In addition to providing the widest frequency coverage from 1 MHz to 40 GHz, the Site Master S820E offers field technicians, engineers, and wireless network installers best-in-class dynamic range, directivity, and durability, enabling them to perform highly accurate measurements during the installation, maintenance, and repair of microwave communication systems. Furthermore, Anritsu announces that the Site Master S820E will incorporate a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurement function.
With its 110 dB dynamic range up to 40 GHz, the Site Master S820E delivers performance typically found only in benchtop instruments, bringing it to the field to meet the challenges of wireless network measurement today. Best-in-class 1 Hz frequency resolution provides users with maximum frequency flexibility. The wide frequency coverage delivers high distance resolution, enabling the handheld analyzer to perform more accurate distance-to-fault (DTF) measurements.
The powerful processor designed for the Site Master S820E enables the analyzer to achieve a sweep speed of 650 µs/data point, thus improving field productivity. The Site Master S820E offers the highest directivity in a handheld analyzer for maximum accuracy in the field. It also features +17 dBm RF immunity, surpassing any other handheld microwave cable and antenna analyzer, so users can acquire stable and accurate measurements in the most challenging RF environments.
The Site Master S820E, designed for measurements on coaxial and waveguide systems, performs all important measurements on a single port, including return loss, VSWR, cable loss, DTF, phase, and Smith diagram. Users can also perform two-port transmission measurements and two-port cable loss testing with the Site Master S820E. The analyzer incorporates Anritsu's easyTest Tools™, which allows for standardized testing for repetitive measurements, as well as Line Sweep Tools to simplify report generation.
Anritsu is developing VNA measurements for the Site Master S820E. Optional software will expand the cable and antenna analyzer's measurement capabilities to include key field measurements of a VNA, such as fully reversible S-parameters on two ports and time-domain measurements with periodic triggering. A vector voltmeter and A/B ratio will also be included in the software. Instruments within their recommended calibration cycle do not need to be sent to a service center for these optional software updates.
Continuing Site Master's tradition of meeting the needs of field users, the S820E boasts a four-hour battery life, providing users with maximum uptime on a single charge. It also features a larger (8.4-inch) TFT touchscreen with best-in-class 800x600 resolution, allowing users to easily view results in any lighting conditions. An intuitive graphical user interface, including a large alphanumeric keypad with a customizable EZ Name Matrix, makes file naming quick, easy, and efficient.
The Microwave Site Master S820E complies with MIL-PRF-28800F for use in explosive atmospheres. Its compact size measures 273 x 199 x 91 mm and it weighs only 3.0 kg. Anritsu offers complete coaxial temperature calibration kits for temperatures between -10°C and +55°C to ensure accurate field measurements. The wide calibration temperature range of +/-10°C requires fewer field calibrations, maximizing productivity.
The new Site Master S820E series includes many standard features that are optional and therefore more expensive with other manufacturers. Full on-site upgradeability (via software option) allows users to expand functionality to meet their future needs and ensures optimal return on investment. Delivery time is four to six weeks after order confirmation.
