Designed to operate in the harshest conditions and in hard-to-reach locations, FieldFox analyzers cover satellite communications, microwave return traffic, military communications, radar systems, and a wide range of additional applications.
FieldFox microwave analyzers can be configured as antenna and cable analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNAs), and all-in-one combination analyzers. Each compact 3.0 kg package is available in four frequencies: 9, 14, 18, or 26.5 GHz.
To ensure durability in harsh environments, the fully sealed housing meets the requirements of US MIL-PRF-28800F Class 2. For ease of use, the instrument is presented in a vertical orientation and with large buttons, so users can easily operate the unit with their thumbs, even while wearing gloves.
FieldFox microwave VNAs provide comprehensive S-parameter measurements on two ports with incredibly low trace noise (as low as ±0.004 dB) and a superior dynamic range of 94 dB (up to 18 GHz). The VNAs also feature an industry-first: the quick calibration function, which allows for convenient calibrations without external accessories. With any other instrument, connecting devices such as jumper cables to the test port requires recalibration with an external calibration kit.
FieldFox microwave spectrum analyzers offer industry-leading amplitude accuracy of ±0.5 dB right out of the box, with no warm-up time required. This allows users in the field to instantly and accurately characterize transmitted power. They can detect more signals in the band of interest with a phase noise of -111 dBc/Hz and an offset of 10 kHz, and measure low-level signals in the presence of high-power transmitters with a spurious dynamic range of 105 dB.
The primary function of combination analyzers is cable and antenna analysis, although users can also configure the instrument to perform spectrum and vector network analysis. To further reduce space in a field kit, FieldFox analyzers can be ordered with an integrated power meter, a separate signal generator, a vector voltmeter, an interference analyzer, a variable DC power supply, a frequency counter, and an integrated GPS receiver.
Among the 14 models are two new FieldFox RF combination analyzers: the N9913A (4 GHz) and the N9914A (6.5 GHz). These models expand Agilent's RF portfolio, which already includes the N9912A (4 or 6 GHz) high-integration RF analyzer and the N9923A RF (4 or 6 GHz) high-precision vector network analyzer.
