vector-network-analyzer-wThe new instruments are designed for testing passive devices such as cables, connectors, filters, and antennas in a wide range of engineering, manufacturing, and educational applications. They can perform single- and mixed-mode S-parameter measurements typically required for production testing of passive devices, with a frequency range up to 40 GHz. They can also characterize routing losses in complex systems. Broadband device faults can be easily and quickly identified in the time domain with the periodic triggering option.

ShockLine vector network analyzers represent a radical departure from conventional analyzer designs, as they omit the screen and keyboard and are controlled remotely via a computer over LAN or other connection. A compact 2U chassis allows these vector network analyzers to be easily integrated into rack configurations.

Thanks to their design, they take up less space without compromising performance. For example, the ShockLine MS46522A model features a scan speed of 70µs/s, a dynamic range of >110dB, and a corrected directivity of >42dB.

Along with the MS46522A series, Anritsu also announced today:
• the Economy ShockLine MS46322A 2-port vector network analyzer, for measurements up to 40GHz
• the MS46524A 4-port vector network analyzers for differential and multiport device testing up to 7GHz

All ShockLine vector network analyzers can work with SCPI programming instructions and software drivers, allowing for easy integration into most programming environments. The ShockLine series also features a powerful graphical user interface for applications where the vector network analyzer is connected to a touchscreen, keyboard, and mouse. A LAN interface provides more robust control and faster data transmission than USB and GPIB.
