The touchscreen allows the user to quickly switch between functions and select the desired frequency range as center and span frequencies, or as start and end frequencies. Selectable cursors and boundary lines allow the unit to display the resonant frequency and/or usable bandwidth of an antenna system.
The distance to fault can be displayed in either SWR mode or return loss mode; the former provides a clear indication of a short or open circuit, while the latter offers a more detailed analysis that includes connectors, adapters, and splices along the cable length. A large built-in database of coaxial cables, including propagation speeds and attenuation, is included; this data can be edited by the user to add new cable types.
The digitally modulated test waveform provides immunity against erroneous readings in environments with strong field strengths around the test frequency.
