Until now, engineers had to choose between optimal bandwidth and optimal signal quality for their application. However, many of today's applications require both high bandwidth and high signal quality. For example, to ensure reliable measurements in aerospace and defense applications, high throughput and good dynamic range are mandatory.
Transferring large volumes of data requires digital modulation capabilities with high dynamic range. With the Agilent 81180A arbitrary waveform generator, test engineers can simultaneously achieve up to 1.5 GHz of bandwidth and 12-bit vertical resolution.
Advanced sequencing in the 81180A supports complex arbitrary waveforms. Three levels of sequencing, along with 64M dot memory, allow engineers to create complex, real-world signals. The dynamic control connector enables real-time waveform control and allows for the selection of external sequences.
Different applications require different signal characteristics. The 81180A arbitrary waveform generator is optimized for three different use cases:
* working in conjunction with the Agilent Vector Performance Signal Generator for InPhase/Quadrature applications;
* maximum bandwidth and flatness for RF applications up to 1.5 GHz; and
* time-domain applications with low overshoot and jitter with 600 ps transition times.
Benefits of the Agilent 81180A include:
* generation of versatile signals, including flat, low overshoot, and excellent signal performance, necessary for today's testing and for future complex devices;
* generation of uniquely flat, very low harmonic distortion broadband signals to ensure reliable measurements;
* integration with Agilent Signal Studio, Mathworks' Matlab®, and National Instruments' LabVIEW, providing a complete solution approach and easy integration into the customer's environment; and
* a function generator for efficient measurements.
