The new eCall Tester development option (MX703330E) and the MSD ERA/GLONASS option (MX703330E-031), used in conjunction with the MD8475A, now support in-house testing and evaluation of communication modules (in-vehicle systems, IVS) with integrated eCall and ERA/GLONASS functions, as well as general evaluation after installation of these modules in vehicles. Since testing emergency call systems using a live network is challenging, the laboratory testing of eCall and ERA/GLONASS applications not only reduces development time but also lowers costs because testing can be performed on-site using the network simulator, thus reducing the amount of field testing required to verify and debug eCall systems. These solutions offer the industry's first system test environment using a flexible control graphical user interface and user-configurable options, to provide a test environment where different modes and configurations of network and eCall environments can be easily configured and tested.
