The DWL-8610AP offers simultaneous dual-band 2.4/5 GHz connectivity, with speeds of 450 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, supporting Wi-Fi AC for a combined speed of 1750 Mbps. The DWL-8610AP integrates three internal antennas on each band in a 3T3R MIMO configuration. In addition to inherent Wi-Fi AC technologies, such as Beamforming to direct the signal to each device and improve coverage and performance, it also benefits from the advantages of connecting on the 5 GHz band (avoiding saturation and interference on the 2.4 GHz band). Furthermore, thanks to BandSteering technology, the access point automatically forces compatible 5 GHz devices (all AC devices and many Wireless N devices) to connect to it.
The DWL-8610AP features two Gigabit Ethernet ports and can operate as a standalone or unified access point, WDS bridge, or universal repeater. For network administrators, it offers configuration via CLI, SNMP, or an intuitive web interface, providing access to features such as wireless LAN segmentation, bandwidth limiting, VLAN support, a captive portal, and an internal RADIUS server. Furthermore, the DWL-8610AP can be centrally managed through a wireless switch (such as the D-Link DWS-3160 and DWS-4026 series) or a wireless controller like the D-Link DWC-1000.
To facilitate installation, the DWL-8610AP supports Power Over Ethernet (PoE 802.3at) and can be mounted on ceilings or walls, while its metal chassis is UL2043 Plenum Rated.
