Utilizing Molex's MX150 terminal design, proven in practice and currently used by numerous harness manufacturers, the new non-watertight connection system provides considerable space savings compared to traditional 1.50 mm interfaces compliant with the USCAR standard.The hinged TPA device, molded as part of the housing, allows for easy insertion of terminals and ensures secure positioning. The MX150 non-watertight connector system features a larger push surface, contributing to improved ergonomics and enabling convenient connections and disconnections compliant with the USCAR-25 standard. Wiring manufacturers can easily and directly access the latch at the terminal end once the TPA hinge is opened, allowing for quick on-site repairs or corrections. Furthermore, since standard tools are used for on-site servicing of MX150 systems, additional costs associated with special tools are eliminated.
The MX150 non-watertight connector and in-line connectors are available in standard 2-, 3-, and 4-circuit versions, but versions with other circuit counts are also available upon request, with custom clip slots for greater design flexibility. For quick visual installation, four polarization options are offered for each circuit size. The MX150 non-watertight connector system offers high mating performance for medium-power applications (14 to 22 AWG) using an integral locking mechanism. The reinforced front beam terminal design features high normal contact force while minimizing insertion force.
