The DCJ250-15 vertical jack is unique in the market for its high-power format. Horizontally aligned DC jack components are the standard, mounted at the edge of a PCB and through a panel opening. However, our customers were looking for alternative design configurations, and GCT worked with them to develop a vertically aligned option that addresses their design challenges.
Customers use high-current products to enable fast battery charging in portable or handheld devices. This can be achieved in a standalone application or by distributing power to a device port where multiple portable units are connected for charging. The high-current jacks are tested and rated at 7A in vertical orientation and 8A in horizontal, within a strict temperature rise of 30°C above ambient temperature. All product specifications are available on the GCT website, something you won't find from other competitors.
All GCT DC power jacks are tested to 5,000 insertion cycles and offer an operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C.
