ISOBUS is the term used for the ISO 11783 standard, based on J1939, which describes the higher-level communication protocols based on CAN, used in mobile machinery in the agricultural sector. The purpose of ISOBUS is to ensure interoperability between tractors and implements from different manufacturers, so that the same operator panel (Virtual Terminal) can be used with all the implements used with the tractor. A typical ISOBUS system consists of a Virtual Terminal (VT), Task Controller (TC), Tractor ECU (TECU), and Implementation ECU (I-ECU).

The main focus of EPEC controllers, with the ISOBUS solution, is on implementing control systems and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) functionalities, thus providing a complete kit for control system development. The EPEC ISOBUS solution consists of the following products:

1. The EPEC ISOBUS, CANopen, and SAE J1939 libraries enable ISOBUS communication between auxiliary machinery and the tractor.
2. Epec MultiTool offers easy configuration of the farm equipment control system, including ISOBUS communication.
3. The Epec CANMoon application creates and downloads the VT object group binary, along with the CODESYS application, to the ECUs.
4. Implement ECUs. Product versions compatible with the ISOBUS protocol are available in the Epec 3000 series.
