Anybus Communicator Gateway for Industrial Network
With the Anybus Communicator, you can connect any serial device to any fieldbus or industrial Ethernet network. The gateway performs intelligent conversion between the device's serial protocol and the chosen industrial network.
For industrial devices with a Rockwell DF1 serial interface, HMS uses visual template wizards in the configurator included with the gateway, saving the user the work of scripting and building frames. This allows for quick device connection.
The Anybus communicator handles the full serial protocol without requiring PLC function block extensions. This compact gateway takes up very little space in a distribution cabinet and is easily mounted on a standard DIN rail.
For devices with a Rockwell DF1 serial interface, the Anybus Communicator acts as a DF1 Master in half-duplex mode. Thanks to its selectable RS-232/422/485 interface, multiple DF1 devices can be connected using a single Communicator in multi-drop mode.
Single and multi-drop mode: The Anybus Communicator can connect 1 or multiple (up to 31) devices via its selectable RS-232/422/485 serial interface to any Fieldbus or Industrial Ethernet.
Example devices: all devices with DF1 interface, such as Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500 and MicroLogix, can be connected to 13 different industrial networks such as DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, Modbus/TCP, Profibus-DP, ProfiNet and CANopen.
Main features:
• Proven smart gateways that provide flexibility and functionality.
• Once the configuration is complete, it can be reused in different industrial networks
• Allows you to connect almost any device with an RS-232/422/485 serial interface to the network
• It does not require changes to the hardware or software of the device to be connected.
• Available for major Fieldbuses and Industrial Ethernet
• Compatible with all major PLC manufacturers such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.
• Anybus Communicator performs the complete protocol conversion; it does not require extending function blocks
• Anybus Communicator can connect up to 31 DF1 serial devices using the RS-485 interface
• Includes “Configuration Manager” for easy DF1 configuration. No programming required.
• Customized options available upon request
