The Molex ResilientFlex coil assembly is based on innovative technology that enables hot-swappable connections in applications with removable supports, such as storage drawers. ResilientFlex can be implemented in self-winding flexible circuits or mechanically assisted winding functions with the ability to extend electrical connections up to 558.90 mm (22.00") beyond the installed length.
The assembly can be terminated with Molex connectors, such as backplane or board-to-board connectors, or interposers—any Z-axis compression connection with a separable interface to the flexible assembly and printed circuit board (PCB).
The Molex ResilientFlex coiled assembly offers several key features and benefits, including:
• A unique self-winding technology design, eliminating the need for additional winding hardware or additional options for winding material tailored to specific application requirements.
• Connectivity for high-speed connectors, such as backplane and board-to-board connectors, with support for tight impedance control and data rates of 6.0 Gbps, 12.0 Gbps, and higher.
• A flexible 28" flat length with the ability to extend connections up to 22" (558.90 mm).
• Termination with any Molex high-speed connector, making it suitable for multiple applications with removable brackets, such as storage drawers, as well as hot-swappable connections within storage drawers.
• Termination with any interposer, regardless of the number of positions or pitch, providing a low-profile, low-loss connection with a 0.80 mm (0.031") pitch.
Molex's ResilientFlex spiral assembly is part of the range of flexible copper products, also known as flexible printed circuits, designed with ultra-reliable encapsulation technology for complex, small and lightweight applications, as well as for demanding environments.
