Koaxxa RF products complement conventional RF connectors because they are alternative connectors designed to offer the right performance at a competitive price. The new SMA connectors have been redesigned as an expandable product family for large-scale manufacturing and automated assembly. This enables mass customization and reduces lead times and sensitivity to rising material and labor costs.
The new Koaxxa connector family reduces material consumption and waste. The advanced electroplating system uses precious materials only where needed: selective tin plating in the solder area simplifies the process, and selective gold plating in the contact area provides the performance and durability required to meet industry standards. The product utilizes TE's standardized manufacturing processes worldwide, enabling Koaxxa RF interconnects to respond quickly to global demands.
As the first offering in the family, the SMA product line is available in the most common configurations with frequency ranges and durability levels to meet market needs. These configurations include: 90° and 180° PCB mounting; male and female in-line connectors with various types of flexible, semi-rigid, and adaptable cable; and panel mounting. Additional SMA configurations are planned for later release.
SMA Koaxxa interconnectors have been designed to be fully compatible with IEC-169-15 interface standards and have passed the EIA-364 test.
