The S7-PCI315 board runs your program, developed with “S7 for Windows” or STEP7®, in the same way as the PLC. The advantages are numerous, including the ability to view the status in real time from the PC.
“S7 for Windows” or STEP7 is also sufficient for diagnostics, program setup, and Profibus communication. Programs written for S7-PLC or a Siemens Win AC® SoftPLC, including the PROFIBUS DP configuration, work seamlessly on the S7-PCI315. Its main features are:
- Diagnostic functions with “S7 for Windows®” or STEP7® via PROFIBUS-DP, USB, Ethernet, or directly on the PC.
- Operator panels (OPs) and programming devices can be connected via PROFIBUS-DP.
- SCADA and monitoring programs can be connected via PROFIBUS-DP, USB, Ethernet, or directly.
- SCADA and monitoring programs can be connected via an optional OPC server.
- Any Profibus DP device can be connected.
- When connected to an external power supply, the board continues to operate even with the PC turned off.
- Specifications: 256KB RAM; 256KB load memory; 0.20µs/instruction speed.
The complete package includes the S7-PCI315 card and the “S7 for Windows” programming software.
