interconnection systemTypical applications include in-vehicle infotainment, telematics devices, and radio and navigation systems, as well as meeting the growing demand for driver-assistance cameras that warn of pedestrians, cover blind spots, and enable night vision, rearview, and 360-degree systems.

As part of a flexible and expandable family, Molex offers its HSAutoLink II™ products initially with 6 and 12 circuits, providing flexibility for combined links or support for multiple protocols on the same connector, including USB 2.0, USB 3.0, LVDS, Ethernet AVB (Audio Visual Bridging), as well as modified HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort. The use of shielded twisted-pair (STP) and unshielded jacketed twisted-pair (JUTP) cables enables a range of cost-effective solutions for high-speed differential signaling applications.

The HSAutoLink II™ interconnect system features a proven terminal interface designed for high-pin-count signaling applications requiring high-reliability, high-speed signaling capability. Low contact insertion force (0.5 N per circuit) is achieved through a terminal design that separates the contacts from the socket and ensures high durability, withstanding up to 5,000 mating cycles with a standard gold-plated finish. The two contact elements provide multiple current paths with minimal length and offer stable low resistance; this contact geometry and density contribute to increased bandwidth performance with a nominal data rate of 3 GHz to 4 GHz in a differential signaling environment. The contact system has a current-carrying capacity of 1.5 A (continuous).

The fully shielded connector housing (sealed or unsealed) and the enclosed shield housing on the soldered or in-line connection provide excellent EMI characteristics. Furthermore, the sealed connection system utilizes a fully protected perimeter gasket and a threaded joint to meet the demanding requirements of the IP69K standard.

As a leading supplier to the global automotive market, Molex offers automakers and their suppliers a broad product range and extensive research and development capabilities, including rapid prototyping and support for mass production. All Molex manufacturing facilities are ISO 9000 and QS 9000 certified.
