MapIT G2 offers best-in-class user interfaces, 80 percent higher density, and 75 percent lower power consumption compared to competing systems.

MapIT G2 integrates a combination of innovative Smart Patch Panels, user-friendly Master Control Panels, and MapIT software to provide real-time monitoring and reporting of physical layer activity across the entire network.
Designed with enhanced intelligence, MapIT G2 patch panels and fiber distributors feature an LCD screen that displays connection status, diagnostic information, and dynamic tag information. The LCD screen provides more detailed instructions compared to LED systems or traditional panels. The ability to monitor and display copper and fiber patch fields in real time and provide diagnostics through this interface reduces troubleshooting time and accelerates work order completion.
The MapIT G2 Master Control Panel (MCP) gathers data from the entire network infrastructure provided by the Smart Patch Panels and fiber distributors, monitoring up to 2,880 ports in a single rack unit (U). The MCP features an integrated LCD screen and keyboard, providing technicians with access to network architecture and diagnostic information. By providing this interface locally in the patch area, the MCP eliminates the need for technicians to carry PDAs or access the MapIT software server directly. The MCP interface allows for viewing complete end-to-end graphical system circuits and can perform extensive diagnostics on any port or component.

The combination of MapIT G2 patching and MCP enables up to 80% greater density than competing systems, significantly reducing the number of expensive racks and underfloor space required in the data center. For example, typical IIM systems can require up to 60U of management equipment to handle 20,000 ports. MapIT G2 can manage the same number of ports in just 7U.

In addition to optimized density, MapIT G2 dramatically reduces energy consumption, using 75% less than other IIM systems, providing a significant environmental advantage. This lower energy consumption reduces heat generation and the energy used by thermal management systems, a significant benefit for data center managers seeking to lower operating costs. Available in Category 6A (Class EA) F/UTP, UTP, and Category 6 (Class E) UTP, as well as 10Gb/s single-mode or multi-mode fiber, the MapIT G2 system is fully scalable. It can manage networks from 24 to 65,000 ports in a single patch field, making it equally effective for managing massive data centers or a wide network of small, remote sites.
