In fiber optic (FTTx) networks, speed and flexibility are more crucial than ever. Reliable, properly executed, and cost-effective subscriber cable installations are becoming essential for enabling a massive and flexible deployment that meets customer demand for new services. The Corning OptiSplice™ one handheld fusion splicer represents an innovative solution that increases operator efficiency by reducing deployment and operating costs, making fiber optic network installation and maintenance easier and more affordable than ever before.
Perfectly designed for next-generation FTTx applications, these modules include ClearCurve™ software. They deliver the highest levels of performance. The OptiSplice™ one can splic fiber in under 10 seconds. It offers exceptionally fast throughput thanks to its ultra-fast shrink oven (shrink times are less than 20 seconds). The results are outstanding for a cladding-alignment fusion splicer – with an average loss for single-mode fiber below 0.04 dB.
The splicer also features a user-friendly graphical interface, a high-capacity Li-Ion battery, and clamping elements for the most common fiber types. No special maintenance tools are required, and maintenance can be easily performed in the field by the user.
The OptiSplice™ one handheld fusion splicer is robust, lightweight, compact, and ergonomic, making it easy to handle in harsh environments, confined spaces, and challenging working conditions. The splicing area, display, and keyboard are oriented towards the technician, and thanks to its small size, the splicer can be positioned close to fiber NDIs and terminals. It also features high-brightness LEDs that allow for operation even at night. These LEDs can also illuminate the interior of the splice chamber, making the OptiSplice™ one ideal for repair work.
The OptiSplice™ one also offers predefined and user-configurable software applications for the most common fiber types and a USB port for exporting data and performing updates.
