The A3 features a novel graphical user interface (GUI) design where, for example, you can select splicing modes (six preset and up to 320 available) and heating modes (up to 32). It also has six function buttons on the bottom.
Thus, this new model performs fusion in just 7 seconds (fast mode) with a warm-up time of 15 seconds (45 mm) or 20 seconds (60 mm), offering faster and more precise operation than more expensive equipment.
The A3 is designed to splice single-mode (ITU-T G.652 and G.657), multi-mode (ITU-T G.651), DS (ITU-T G.653) and NZDS (ITU-T G.655) fibers, with a return loss below 60 dB.
This fusion splicer with coating alignment is also characterized by its illumination by two white LEDs for working in the dark, a 120-240x zoom function and storage capacity of up to ten thousand results (data and images).
With a compact and robust design for operation in harsh environments, the A3 measures 197 x 137 x 87 mm (with rubber protectors) or 187 x 128 x 82 mm (without protectors) and weighs 1206 grams (with battery) or 997 grams (without battery). It operates in a temperature range of -20 to +60 °C and can withstand drops from 76 centimeters. Humidity resistance: 10 mm/h for 10 minutes. Dust resistance: particles from 0.1 to 500 µm.
The fusion splicer is supplied with a high-precision V11 blade, a fiber holder, an SOC heater cover, a power adapter, a cooling tray, an E-50 electrode (for 5500 arc discharges), a 3000 mAh battery (capable of 150 heating + splicing cycles in "normal" mode and 200 cycles in "saving" mode), a power cable, two USB cables (8P and 9P), a workstation, and a carrying case with straps.
Optional accessories include an alcohol dispenser bottle, a stripper, an electrode rectifier, and a splice protector pack.
