Kabel BW is updated with Motorola's ultra-broadband solutions

Motorola, Inc.'s Mobile and Home Devices business announces that Kabel BW, one of the largest cable operators in Germany, has selected Motorola's new EuroDOCSIS 3.0 solutions
To offer customized multimedia experiences to its customers in cities across the German state of Baden-Württemberg with broadband speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps), Kabel BW's service expansion is based on the Motorola BSR 64000 Integrated CMTS Router (I-CMTS) and the Motorola TX32 decoupled downstream module.

The Motorola I-CMTS supports two fully redundant TX32 modules and is designed to provide operators with five times the downstream capacity and reduce the cost per port by up to 60 percent. With EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and Motorola's channel bonding solutions, Kabel BW can deliver additional advanced multimedia solutions across higher-speed broadband service layers while protecting existing DOCSIS deployments and, therefore, its existing investments.

Because it is the highest-density integrated downstream technology on the market, the Motorola TX32 supports 32 channels in a single slot within the BSR 64000 I-CMTS router. This solution allows cable operators to provide significantly more bandwidth to newer DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 3.0 cable modems while preserving their previous investments in DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 1.x and 2.0 cable modems.
