Motorola showcases the industry's highest density Upstream Decoupled I-CMTS Module at ANGA Cable 2010

Motorola, Inc.'s Mobile and Home Devices business showcased the new RX48 "decoupled upstream" module for its I-CMTS BSR 64000 integrated router at the ANCA CABLE trade show.
BSR6400webAnnounced in 2009 and commercially available since the third quarter of 2010, the industry's highest-density RX48 decoupled upstream module will be showcased alongside the widely deployed TX32 decoupled downstream module, both integrated into the BSR 64000 I-CMTS.

With the RX48 decoupled upstream module installed, Motorola's BSR 64000 I-CMTS solution delivers nearly 1.5 Gbps of upstream capacity per module. The combination of the high-density RX48 and TX32 modules, along with the BSR 64000's integrated and streamlined design, will provide greater flexibility and scalability. The RX48 offers significant energy efficiencies, with an 81 percent reduction in power consumption per channel compared to previous modules.

'

BSR6400_module_rightwebWhen deployed with S-CDMA, the RX48 represents the most comprehensive upstream solution currently available. With S-CDMA, cable operators can utilize additional spectrum in their networks to increase upstream capacity by up to 50 percent. When deployed with S-CDMA, cable operators can safely use spectrum below 15 MHz and above 40 MHz to increase data throughput throughput due to higher-order modulation, achieving up to 150 Mbps of maximum bandwidth.
