The DCIM market is expected to grow rapidly due to industry trends toward improving data center energy efficiency, asset management, capacity, and operations management. This spin-off will allow each company to benefit from a more strategic and managerial focus. The separation will enable the two companies to compete more effectively in their respective markets and optimize their business objectives, engineering initiatives, and capital requirements.
The completion of the proposed separation is subject to the fulfillment of the conditions for the closing of the Raritan-Legrand transaction, including receipt of consents and the expiration or termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, which is expected within 30-60 days. Until then, Sunbird Software will continue to operate as part of Raritan, and Raritan will continue to operate independently of Legrand.
Following the closure, Sunbird Software will operate as an independent business separate from Raritan and will remain focused on its pragmatic approach to delivering successful DCIM deployments for data center customers worldwide. Herman Chan, currently SVP Marketing and GM DCIM at Raritan, will become President of Sunbird Software.
