Xavier Casajoana will replace Roberto Beitia, CEO of Sarenet, as president of the association. Beitia has served as president for the past four years (2013-2017). Casajoana will assume the role immediately and will serve for one year until the next Annual General Meeting. The new Board of Directors is completed by Alberto Estirado (GNET), who will continue as vice president; and the new additions of Aitor Sarriegui (IMATEL) as treasurer and Rober Rodríguez (Voz.com) as secretary.
For the CEO of Voz Telecom, the new position as president of ASOTEM represents “a challenge to strengthen the sector's visibility.” He also notes that during this new phase, and with the addition of telecommunications companies to ASOTEM, “we will continue to promote joint initiatives for participation in regulatory and competition matters, the reduction of operating costs, and the implementation of innovation projects.” Casajoana concludes that the main objective is “to generate maximum synergies among the various operators to achieve an improvement in the sector.”.
