The program will initially focus on resolving this connectivity issue for over 20,000 households located in 13 autonomous communities, which account for more than half of the municipalities that will be left without internet access. Subsequently, in a second phase, its scope will be expanded to include more people in these towns and other areas.

Eurona has identified a total of 7,440 municipalities that will be affected by the ADSL switch-off. More than 50% of these are located in one of these territories: Castilla y León (38%); Castilla La Mancha (12%); Valencian Community (10%); Andalusia and Catalonia (9%); Madrid and La Rioja (5%); Cantabria and Galicia (3%); Canary Islands, Asturias and Balearic Islands (2%) and Murcia (1%).

In this context, the company considers it essential to inform users about satellite internet as the only technological solution for bringing high-speed internet to all these areas.
The ÚNICO Rural Program, which guarantees broadband connectivity with speeds of up to 200 Mbps throughout the country at a price as competitive as that paid in the city—just €35/month—stands as an alternative to close the digital divide in rural, sparsely populated, dispersed, and remote areas.
