With IP traffic from the Middle East and Africa projected to increase sixfold from 2015 to 2020 to 10.9 Exabytes per month, and IP traffic from the Asia-Pacific region set to triple to 67.8 Exabytes over the same period, Colt is meeting consumer demand for both point-to-point and geographically diverse bandwidth transit between Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Recently, two new cables, Sea-Me-We-5 and AAE1, completed their connection at Interxion's data center, and organizations with bandwidth on those cables are already acquiring an environment network from Marseille to cities across Europe (primarily Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, and Paris), constituting a significant opportunity for Colt.

This being its second Point of Presence (PoP) in Marseille, Colt has connected the MRS1 to its IQ Network using its existing proprietary fiber network. Because the new PoP is located within Interxion's MRS1, it enables quick and easy interconnection of submarine cables with Colt's 10/100G optical network, as well as immediate access in its first phase to 90 of Europe's leading data centers. Furthermore, customers will also have access to Colt's extensive IQ Network, granting them access to over 700 key data centers and more than 24,500 buildings worldwide, as well as the long-distance network (LDN) connecting Europe with key hubs in Asia, including Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
