Infinera is enabling network operators to deliver large amounts of bandwidth more easily. Whether for long-haul core, metropolitan, or emerging high-capacity metropolitan cloud networks, Infinera's intelligent transport networks are designed to help operators capitalize on the growing demand for cloud-based services and data center connectivity as they move into the Terabit Era.
According to the recent report on the optical networking hardware market, prepared by Infonetics, Infinera's "fast growth" classification is based on a 23 percent increase in hardware revenue in 2014. This ranking validates Infinera's focus on expanded markets and highlights Infinera's performance as an example compared to competitors serving the data center market.
“Infinera was the big success story of 2014, outperforming the overall market with over 20 percent growth as a result of its focus on new customer vertical markets,” said Andrew Schmitt, principal analyst for Carrier Transport Networking at Infonetics Research. “In 2014, Infinera was the fastest-growing optical company in the West, which is defined as EMEA and North America. Furthermore, Infinera’s new product targeting data center interconnection in metropolitan areas is in production, and I estimate it has at least a six-month jump to market.”
"Infonetics' results recognize Infinera's focus on developing intelligent transport networks specifically designed for global network operators," commented Tom Fallon, CEO of Infinera. "In 2014, we increased our market share by delivering a leading 100G solution that has enabled us to grow while expanding profitability."
In addition to being named "Fastest Growing Optical Company in the West," Infinera was named the number one optical transport provider worldwide according to Infonetics' 2014 Optical Networking Hardware Vendor Score Ranking. The vendor score ranking was based on very high ratings from network operators on technological innovation, reliability and service, and support.
