logo-keysight-technologies-wThe name conveys the ability to see what others cannot, to offer critical or key insights for understanding and unlocking the evolving technological landscape. The new company's slogan, "75 years of innovating in measurement," commemorates the founding of the original Hewlett-Packard company in 1939, from which Keysight originates.

“Keysight reflects our rich heritage, a lineage that stems from Hewlett-Packard’s standards of integrity and innovation and Agilent’s leading measurement business,” said Ron Nersesian, President and CEO of Keysight.

“This name captures the innovative, meaningful, and forward-thinking spirit of our organization,” Nersesian noted, adding, “While Keysight’s origins can be traced back to the birth of Silicon Valley, as a startup company we are committed to bringing our customers a new generation of breakthroughs, unlocking insights so they can give the world a new generation of technologies.”

Keysight specializes exclusively in the electronic measurement sector, focusing on its test and measurement customers. The business, now part of Agilent, is a global leader in test and measurement, holding the No. 1 position in the wireless data ecosystem, aerospace and defense, and industrial, computing, and semiconductor segments. The new company will include Agilent's full range of electronic measurement products and the largest sales and support team in the test and measurement industry.

Keysight is scheduled to become an independent company in early November 2014, headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, with around 9,500 employees in 30 countries.

Keysight Technologies' common stock is expected to be listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol KEYS. The company's website is www.keysight.com
