The Fractus-UPF Chair in Technology Transfer and 6G will present its first results at the 2022 IEEE International Conference Communications, the international conference on wireless communications, which is being held this year in Seoul, Korea.
The scientific article entitled "Spatial-wideband effect in line-of-sight MIMO communication" discloses a method that makes it possible to transmit signals that occupy multiple GHz of bandwidth using antenna arrays; this, in turn, opens the door to bit rates of hundreds of Gb/s on a single link, a big step up from the few Gb/s that are currently possible in 5G.
According to Professor Ángel Lozano, "this work presents a solution to an obstacle currently hindering ultra-broadband communication." Dr. Carmen Borja adds, "we are very pleased with the promising results achieved for 6G networks within the framework of the Fractus-UPF Chair."
