To improve the overall quality of the rail sector and drive innovation, IRIS-certified companies can achieve one of three performance levels: bronze, silver, or gold. To reach a higher performance level, companies must increase customer satisfaction and improve the efficiency of their rail business. Moxa's strong commitment since 2013 to ensuring that the quality, reliability, and safety of its rail products and solutions meet the industry's stringent standards has helped elevate Moxa's performance level from bronze to silver. Key performance areas assessed included customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, requirements management, project management, third-party supplier management, and traceability. Moxa's outstanding performance in these areas has significantly boosted its scores in the overall audit categories, which encompass enablers, process performance, and customer perception.
"This achievement represents a significant milestone in Moxa's ongoing commitment to quality, reliability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction in supporting rail and mobility projects worldwide, from initial concept to long-term operation," said Samuel Chiu, Group Director of Moxa Inc.'s Transportation Business. "To achieve the IRIS Silver rating, we demonstrated our compliance with criteria beyond the core requirements of the standard, specifically those related to our management system and the operational processes involved in developing our rail products and solutions.".
The latest revision 04 of the IRIS certification covers the latest version of the ISO 22163:2023 standard, the IRIS certification performance evaluation issued by UNIFE (Union of European Railway Industries) in July 2023, and the IRIS certification technology. It describes a railway quality management system that integrates ISO 9001 quality management standards with the specific requirements of the railway sector.
