“As a trusted partner to automotive original equipment manufacturers and suppliers, Molex is constantly striving to improve and optimize operating procedures,” says Daniel Dawiedczyk, Director of Marketing and Engineering for Flexible Products at Molex, adding: “The ISO/TS-16949:2009 certification process aimed to establish a robust company-wide framework for best practices in documentation, design, validation, and verification at all levels, from initial engineering solutions to Molex’s manufacturing facilities around the world.”.

Developed by the IATF (International Automotive Task Force), the ISO/TS-16949:2009 certification combines the requirements of the ISO 9000 standard with the AVSQ (Italy), EAQF (France), and VDA 6.1 (Germany) standards for the automotive industry. Suppliers seeking certification must demonstrate their commitment to meeting the quality management system standards, continuously improving manufacturing efficiency, preventing defective products, and reducing production variations and waste in the automotive supply chain.
Following the acquisition of the Taiwanese company Aflextech, Inc. in mid-2008, Molex increased its capacity to design and manufacture flexible circuits and assemblies for automotive applications, as well as for other sectors such as healthcare, defense, and data communications.

Dawiedczyk notes: “As a partner and supplier of products to top-tier car manufacturers and dealerships, we are delighted to offer customers quality that conforms to ISO/TS-16949:2009 certification, a benchmark for quality and integrity in the industry worldwide.”.
