CENX's SDNFV Innovation Lab provides an ecosystem, aligned with the Central Office Re-architected as a Datacenter (CORD) principle, to deliver data center economics and cloud agility to service providers. It showcases improved operations and real-world implementations of key use cases, such as enterprise services using customer premises equipment (vCPE), VoLTE using Evolved Packet Core (vEPC), and Software-defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN). The multi-vendor environment includes CENX Exanova Service Intelligence [http://cenx.com/products/exanova-service-intelligence-for-sdn-nfv ], Brocade [http://www.brocade.com/en/products-services/software-networking/network-functions-virtualization/vrouter.html ] vRouter, Red Hat [https://www.redhat.com/en/technologies/linux-platforms/openstack-platform ] OpenStack Platform and RIFT.io [http://www.riftio.com/product RIFT.ware NFV Orchestrator and VNF Manager. The lab is built based on the previously announced demonstrations.http://cenx.com/cenx-ixia-mitel-and-vmware-champion-mobile-service-assurance-for-virtual-evolved-packet-core ] of CENX with other associated companies.
Exanova Service Intelligence provides a unified LSO interface for the multiple components within an NFV architecture—NFV Orchestrator, Virtualized Network Function (VNF) Manager, VNFs, Virtualized Infrastructure Manager (VIM)—as well as Physical Network Functions (PNFs). It continuously ingests and analyzes network data to provide a real-time view of service health in relation to the dynamic SDNFV network topology, supported by KPI metrics. Operators can quickly navigate their hybrid network, isolate faults, and trigger automated workflows for proactive service management and assurance.
“Many service providers are on an aggressive path to execute business transformation strategies focused on next-generation SDN and NFV technologies,” said Andrew McDonald, senior vice president of core products at CENX. “By bringing together leading vendors to pre-integrate complete solutions across virtualized, hybrid physical, and complex infrastructure, we can help service providers more quickly realize the opex savings benefits of these innovators.”
"Brocade is pleased to collaborate with leading vendors to combine complementary technologies with the intention of building a complete service orchestration and management solution for SDN and NFV deployments," said Michael Bushong, vice president of software network product management at Brocade. "This can help operators evolve their network infrastructure to deploy on-demand services for their customers."
“As communications service providers work to modernize their networks and introduce new services to their customers, SDN and NFV initiatives are gaining extraordinary momentum,” explained Mike Werner, senior director of global technology ecosystems at Red Hat. “And OpenStack offers a highly scalable and reliable platform for SDN and NFV. Red Hat is excited to work with companies like Brocade, CENX, and Rift.io to deliver a solution for SDN and NFV deployments on OpenStack.”
“Effective, highly scalable network management and orchestration require the deployment of service fulfillment and service performance monitoring,” said Vincent Spinelli, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at
RIFT.io. “We are demonstrating the real-world viability of this complete solution within the SDNFV innovation lab through our collaboration with CENX, which has the potential to accelerate SDN and NFV interest among service providers and enterprises worldwide.”
