After Luxembourg in 2017, the event will take place in 2018 at the Palais Brongniart (Paris Stock Exchange) and will focus on cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Transformation, Creativity, Deeptech, Circular Economy, E-commerce and much more.
Since its launch in 2015, the Morpheus Cup has been placed under the high patronage of the European Commission with the support of Commissioners Marianne Thyssen and Carlos Moedas in 2017. "The championship is a great opportunity for young people to showcase their skills and help the Commission. We believe that the right skills not only improve young people's life opportunities but also act as an engine for our future competitiveness and growth," emphasizes Ms. Thyssen.
In the past three years, the event has already attracted hundreds of campuses from more than 20 countries and rewarded many of them, including the Warshaw School of Economics, Mannheim Business School, HEC Paris, Polytechnique Nantes, the universities of Oxford, Berlin, Luxembourg, Athens and Barcelona.
New Challenges for New Talents:
The next edition will take the competition to another level, presenting creative, technological, entrepreneurial, and scientific challenges across five different rooms. Fifty booths will facilitate meetings with employers, innovative brands, and investors, and no fewer than 20 categories will be available for students to present their startup projects/ideas (Morpheus Award). Beyond live experiences and challenges designed by entrepreneurs and event partners, nearly 500 research projects and startups will be showcased for a chance to win awards, the championship, and up to €50,000 in prizes.
Art, circular economy, human capital, smart cities, mobility, FinTech, design, industry, sports, artificial intelligence—the themes, regardless of student backgrounds and educational level, invite them to be creative in a wide range of fields.
The finalists will have to present their idea to an international jury. Some members of the jury in previous editions have included Google Lunar XPrize, Warner Bros., Accenture, and the European Investment Fund. This year, Daimler, Forbes, Expon Capital, Davidson, Leroy Merlin, and PwC have already joined the jury for the upcoming edition.
Registration is now open. The first partners, jury members, and employers will be announced before the holiday season.
