The Slatina factory is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, having begun industrial operations in 1973 with the production of power cables. In 2009, the first module for the production of fiber optic cables was introduced. The factory holds numerous quality certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IMQ. The new plant will triple its production, from 500,000 kilometers to 1.5 million kilometers of cable per year, with the potential to reach 3 million kilometers.
The Slatina plant covers almost 100,000 square meters, with a covered area of approximately 42,000 square meters. This will create a total annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of power cables (from high-voltage cables up to 110 kV and building cables, power cables and Instrumentation and Control cables), almost 1,500,000 kilometers of optical cable and 500,000 kilometers of copper telecommunications cable (covering almost all possible demand for fiber optic and copper telecommunications cable types), employing more than 400 people.
