The goal is to build an innovative system based on a unified, multi-layered space-air-ground architecture. This system aims to leverage the benefits of artificial intelligence and machine learning to optimize this network.

This new system encompasses everything from cloud service provision to business opportunities arising in the market for new components and devices beyond smartphones.


Ether, which stands for Self-Evolving Terrestrial/Non-Terrestrial Hybrid, is part of the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program and has a public-private investment of €1.8 billion. Its aim is to guarantee Europe's technological leadership and sovereignty in this industry.
In addition to Sateliot, the consortium comprises 13 partners from 10 countries (Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom), forming a comprehensive ecosystem that generates synergies.
These partners come from industry (Collins Aerospace, Orange Polska, and Avanti Communications), academia (University of Luxembourg, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Linköping University in Sweden), research (i2CAT and the Demokritos National Centre for Scientific Research), and SMEs (Ubiwhere, Near Computing, Net Ai Tech, and Martel Innovate).
