Specifically, ACERTA's participation will focus on the development of the Green Tech Certification Scheme and Quality Seal, where it can contribute its expertise in defining criteria and methodologies to evaluate and verify compliance with environmental and energy efficiency requirements in artificial intelligence models. This certification scheme, a pioneer in its field, aims to provide a framework of trust and transparency, facilitating the identification and recognition of solutions that demonstrate sustainable performance aligned with the principles of green AI.
“Our contribution to the development of a specific certification scheme for green algorithms will focus on ensuring the transparency, traceability and reliability of AI solutions developed under sustainability criteria ,” explains Daniel González, Director of Corporate Development at Acerta.
Furthermore, he adds, “we believe that green AI not only represents an opportunity to move towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly production model, but also reinforces the role of technology as an essential ally in the fight against climate change.” With this participation, “we reiterate our commitment to ethical, transparent, and sustainable technological development, actively contributing to positioning Spain at the forefront of responsible artificial intelligence.”
The National Green Algorithms Program
The PNAV ecosystem is a collaborative public-private environment that brings together universities, certification bodies, technology companies, startups, cloud service providers, companies committed to sustainability, corporate R&D departments, European funds, investors, and other key stakeholders. Its fundamental objectives include:
● Promoting applied research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability, prioritizing the development of environmental assessment metrics and mechanisms adapted to AI models.
● Reducing the environmental impact of algorithms by fostering development and deployment practices that optimize energy consumption and minimize associated emissions.
● Driving the transformation of the business sector by facilitating the adoption of green AI solutions in key productive sectors, contributing to a more sustainable economic evolution.
● Encouraging collaboration among different stakeholders, promoting the creation of synergies and the development of joint projects that multiply the positive impact of initiatives linked to sustainable AI.
