New this year are free webinars that will show attendees how to analyze, locate, and troubleshoot problems when implementing PROFIBUS networks through a practical demonstration. They will also cover the basics of Ethernet connectivity, including the physical medium (cabling, connectivity, accessories, etc.) as an introduction to the logical layer, reviewing the main differences between Ethernet installations in offices and on the factory floor. The webinars will be held on February 26, March 20, and April 15, 2014.

Aimed at software and hardware engineers, technology consultants, installers, systems integrators, project managers or teachers, among other profiles, the rest of the courses offered by the Competence Center include topics such as introduction to PROFIBUS and PROFINET technologies, Troubleshooting to analyze, locate and solve problems in communication networks, or specific training to obtain the official title of PROFIBUS Certified Installer and PROFIBUS Certified Engineer through an exam certified by PROFIBUS International (PI).

PROFIBUS and PROFINET technologies are the most widely used communication networks in industry worldwide for automating manufacturing processes and exchanging data. It is estimated that 28% of all plants worldwide use this technology, representing a market of $500 billion.
