which will undoubtedly create safer and more energy-efficient vehicles, as well as intelligent transport systems (ITS). Registration is now open.
The event will begin on the second press day of the Geneva International Motor Show on March 5 with a high-level dialogue on "Innovation for the Car of the Future." Leading figures in the industry will examine developments in ICT, the automotive industry, and smart transportation to guide future innovations.
Jean Todt, President of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), will lead the part of the event that will deal with motorsport as an incubator of innovation and technological advances.
Mr. Johan de Nysschen, President of Infiniti Motor, will lead the industry discussion focused on innovation and future technologies. The manufacturer's new Q50 model will be the star attraction.
Several special sessions will examine driverless cars, or "automated driving," and the associated human factors and regulatory requirements, the potential of ITS to reduce emissions and increase convenience by connecting vehicles to each other and to road infrastructure, safety in the context of connected cars, and the integration of nomadic devices into vehicles.
Safety will be a recurring theme throughout the event, as it is relevant to all points on this agenda, particularly regarding the integration of connected technologies in vehicles without increasing driver distraction. A special session dedicated to safety, co-sponsored by the ITU and Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI), will examine global road safety goals and the role of the private sector, governments, and public-private partnerships in shaping this agenda.
