The Gen2.1 SupIRBuck family incorporates IR's latest advancements in control IC, MOSFET, and package integration technologies to deliver up to 12A of output current in a low-profile, thermally enhanced 5 x 6 mm Power QFN package. This new family of integrated voltage regulators, capable of handling input voltages from 1.5V to 16V, is designed to deliver output voltages from 0.7V to 90% of the input voltage with a new benchmark in efficiency across the entire load range and peak efficiencies exceeding 96%. With programmable switching frequencies up to 1.5MHz, these devices minimize board size while achieving high power density.
The Gen2.1 family eliminates the need for traditional two-stage POL conversion by operating directly from 12V. While optimized for a 12V input voltage, they also achieve superior efficiencies in applications with input voltages of 9.6V, 5V, or 3.3V. In addition to providing pin-compatible current options from 2A to 12A, Gen2.1 SupIRBuck devices offer a new Power Good Output Window (PGOOD) comparator for overvoltage and undervoltage detection, shorter dead time to reduce power losses, and a more precise overcurrent (OC) limit.
Other added features include a 0.7V reference voltage with 1% accuracy, programmable peak current limit, programmable soft start, improved pre-polarization start, thermal protection, enable pin with voltage monitoring capability, sequential control (IR384xW), DDR memory tracking (IR383xW), and an operating junction temperature (Tj) of -40 to 125ºC.
GaN-on-SiC power amplifiers to solve the challenges of aerospace and defense communications, SatCom and 5G
RF systems require power amplifiers (PAs) that provide high, linear, and efficient output power. As systems move to higher-order modulation schemes, such as 64/128/256 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM),...
