The planned 2013 upgrades to the HD platform are:

CassettewebIntegration of MTP/MPO to LC duplex/SC/E200 cassettes in 12 and 24 fiber formats, supporting future migration to 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet technology. Each cassette occupies the space of one front panel module, allowing up to four cassettes to be mounted in one rack unit.

Release of front panels for six RJ45 Cat5e and Cat6 connectors. Support for lower-performance legacy systems for service applications (KVM, control, etc.) with up to 24 ports in one rack unit.

Integration of fiber optic termination cassettes in both breakout and pigtail formats, up to 12 fibers. This ensures the HD panel covers all possible optical termination needs while maintaining the principle of one cassette per front panel module.

fibermoduleHDUpcoming release of the R&M Uniphy intelligent cabling infrastructure management and monitoring system, based on the R&M HD platform. Any front panel or cassette mounted on an HD panel can be included in the interconnection monitoring. An existing infrastructure with HD panels can be upgraded to R&M Uniphy simply by adding the active connection management elements.

The HD panel becomes a universal element for data center cabling infrastructure, providing:
1. High port density per rack unit, thus increasing space efficiency in wiring and server cabinets.
2. Great flexibility, allowing the combination of different RJ45 connector performance levels and different media (fiber optic and copper) within the same platform. This feature increases cabinet space efficiency, eliminating the need for multiple platforms if copper and fiber optic cabling are required within the same server and/or wiring cabinet.

4. It allows for the evolution from a traditional passive system to an intelligent management and monitoring system:

5. It facilitates network maintenance. Its front-mounted front panel and cassette system allows maintenance work to be performed on the specific bay where the problem may have occurred, without disrupting the other services located in the other modules of the same panel.

Additionally, the R&M HD panel, working in conjunction with the range of rack cabinets for data center environments (R&M CME/CMO/CMP) and their optimized lateral cable routing management systems, allows for their deployment without the need for horizontal cable organizers, optimizing the space occupied by cabling hardware within the data center. Optimizing investment in infrastructure does not always depend on the direct cost of acquisition, but also on savings in other areas such as space, operation, and maintenance.
