For example, if we have an Ultra HD (4K2K) source and want to play a movie/presentation on two screens simultaneously, one screen has a 4K2K resolution and the other a 1080p resolution.
A standard HDMI splitter detects the highest common resolution of the two screens. This means that the maximum resolution displayed on both screens is 1080p, even though one of the screens is capable of displaying 4K2K. The capabilities of this screen are not being fully utilized.
However, the M812 converts the Ultra HD (4K2K) signal to 1080p for the 1080p display and transmits the 4K2K signal to the Ultra HD display. The image is then displayed on each screen at its maximum resolution. This ensures the highest possible image quality on both screens.
Another example: with an HDMI source (1080p), we want to play content on a 4K2K screen and a 1080p screen simultaneously. The M812 then upscales the resolution (for the 4K2K screen).
The M812 is compatible with 4K2K Ultra HD, 1080p Full HD, and all 3D formats, and supports High Definition LPCM 7.1CH, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
• Unique Auto Scaling function: Facilitates the use of devices not equipped for Ultra HD(1). The signal is not converted to lower resolutions.
• Splits and scales an HDMI signal to a second (Ultra) HDTV or projector.
• Facilitates playback of image and sound from one HDMI device (TV set-top box, Blu-ray player, or HDD player) on two screens simultaneously.
• Automatically detects (Auto Scaling) the maximum resolution of a screen (TV/projector) and transmits two different video resolutions (1080p and 4K2K) simultaneously.
• Suitable for 4K2K Ultra HD, 1080p Full HD, and all 3D formats.
• Supports High Definition LPCM 7.1CH, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
(1)Devices that support a maximum resolution of Full HD 1080p (v1.3) such as HDTVs, projectors, or A/V receivers.
