The new HD SDI technology originated in the broadcast industry and typically handles levels previously unattainable in the security sector. Its introduction to the security market is primarily due to powerful recorders capable of handling a large number of channels in real time.
The demand for higher quality in video surveillance has been growing in recent years, from VHS-quality videotapes and CIF digital resolutions to the D1 or 960H quality commonly used today. Despite this rapid growth, the "pixelation" effect of a recorded image when enlarged is an unpleasant problem we see daily. Until now, the use of higher quality was limited to megapixel solutions with IP cameras, which required more complex installations and less common recorders. Furthermore, it forced us to discard our entire old system and upgrade to the new technology.
The new SFERA 16 recorder provides an efficient solution, allowing access to megapixel cameras. For starters, the existing cable installation shouldn't need to be changed. HD SDI is an analog, non-compressed technology (meaning no latency and no data loss) that uses the same coaxial cable we're already familiar with; therefore, we won't have to tear down the entire installation.
Furthermore, it could be described as an "open hybrid" system, meaning it allows us to use standard cameras (of any resolution, up to 960Hz) with HD (720p) or Full HD (2.1 MP 1080p or 1080p) cameras. All of this is done automatically and seamlessly; we simply connect the camera to the recorder, and it will be automatically recognized and integrated into the system.
The SFERA 16 DVR has up to 16 input channels and allows us to record up to a resolution of Full HD 1080p in real time PER CHANNEL. (400 fps @ 1080p)
It features a main video output via VGA or HDMI (1080p) as well as a composite video SPOT output.
It has 16 audio channels, one assigned to each camera, and one output. It also has 16 alarm inputs that allow you to link the recorder to external devices (any type of sensor), triggering recordings upon detection of any event.
It comes with a 2 TB hard drive, expandable up to four internal hard drives (up to 4 TB each), providing a total internal capacity of up to 16 TB. Mirroring is available to prevent accidental data loss.
Free software for remotely managing multiple recorders (CMS) is included, as well as mobile apps for various devices.
It is very easy to operate via its touchscreen or with a mouse.
It has a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast remote connectivity.
Its dimensions are 430 x 420 x 88 mm.
