The common goal of updating these three products is to increase malware detection capabilities while reducing the system load, resulting in smarter yet lighter operation.

Avira Professional now includes Avira Protection Cloud. This technology improves upon traditional malware detection methods by using only online services to analyze undiscovered new threats and also improves response time in the unlikely event of a false positive. These updates also include:
• Windows 8 compatibility
• Avira Protection Cloud, which:
o Ensures the latest anti-malware technology
o Very low resource consumption
o Superior technology to prevent false positives
• Automatic updates along with bundled product updates and VDF engine updates.

Avira Server Security 2013 now delivers timely product updates to prevent it from becoming outdated and slowing down threat detection. Avira Server Security can also be run on the current version of Windows Server 2012.

Currently at version 2.7, the Avira Management Console (AMC) is now compatible with the latest versions of Avira Professional Security 2013 and Avira Server Security 2013. Additionally:

• The deployment of Avira software packages is now decentralized and performed directly from the configured Avira Update Manager (AUM) server to ensure low network traffic during deployment to client computers in branch offices.
• Client computers can be automatically assigned to predefined groups (based on IP address range, for example) or freely definable groups. Clients can be added to new or existing groups before installation.
• It is now possible to export and import client configurations. It is also possible to transfer a group's configuration.
