The Stonesoft 1065 appliance, on the other hand, is designed to meet the performance and scalability requirements of small data centers and mid-sized network core locations.
Both appliances offer improved port density, support 10 Gigabit interfaces, and deliver higher throughput. With the included Stonesoft Security Engine license, both appliances can be deployed as a firewall/VPN (Layer 3) for secure routing, NAT, and IPsec VPN gateway. The appliances can also be used as an IPS (Layer 2) in an IDS deployment or an online IPS deployment, as well as in a Layer 2 firewall role, depending on user preferences. All these use cases are available with a single, unified software image that can be easily reconfigured.
The Stonesoft 1035 is currently available for distribution, while the Stonesoft 1065 will be available starting in April 2013.
