Compared to other current solutions on the market, the uniqueness of ERM's eCyber is that authorized parties can install it in a vehicle, such as vehicle importers and fleet managers, at the after-sales stage, after the vehicle has left the factory, as well as by the original equipment manufacturer itself during the manufacturing process.
The eCyber is installed between the external communications device and the vehicle's CAN (Controller Area Network) bus. The eCyber acts as a secure gateway for external communications to the CAN bus, allowing only communications with predefined and known parameters and values. At the same time, it immediately blocks any unauthorized communication to and from the CAN bus. In this way, no malicious digital communication can disrupt the vehicle's operation. The eCyber, which is installed in the vehicle, is a combined hardware and software solution housed in a single compact unit.
