The S300 Pro 3.5-inch surveillance HDDs[4] are modular, available in 4 TB, 6 TB, 8 TB, and 10 TB capacities, and now support up to 24 bays. Furthermore, compared to the previous generation, the new S300 Pro delivers a maximum sustained transfer rate of 268 MiB/s[5] and doubles the cache buffer size to 512 MiB[6]. The S300 Pro HDDs also reduce power consumption, improving the total cost of ownership (TCO).
With 24/7 operation, an enhanced annual workload of 300 TB[7] , and a mean time to failure (MTTF) of up to 1.2 million hours[8], the S300 Pro drives can meet the ever-increasing demands of video analytics for mission-critical video surveillance recordings. Furthermore, the extended warranty period for the new generation S300 Pro, from 3 to 5 years, demonstrates the high durability and engineering quality of Toshiba hard drives[9].
According to Larry Martinez-Palomo, Vice President and Head of Toshiba's Storage Products Division, "The new generation of S300 Pro drives is specifically optimized for large-scale video surveillance operations, where advanced video analytics, facial recognition, and editing are critical functions; and it also offers improved performance, durability, and 24/5 reliability." Martinez-Palomo added, "These next-generation S300 Pro surveillance HDDs demonstrate Toshiba's commitment to ongoing collaboration with leading video surveillance system manufacturers and allow our partners and customers to benefit from our range of high-quality surveillance HDDs."
Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (Toshiba) launches the new generation of S300 Pro video surveillance hard disk drives. With capacities up to 10 TB[1] and double the buffer size[2], the upgraded HDDs utilize conventional magnetic recording (CMR) technology and enable video surveillance system integrators, installers, and end users to record, store, and analyze video streams from up to 64 high-definition (HD) cameras[3].
