The XG5-P series is designed to meet the needs of demanding PCs, gaming, and content delivery workloads, offering up to 2 terabytes (TB) of storage capacity while maintaining ultra-thin, high-speed storage characteristics with exceptional energy efficiency.

To provide a broad portfolio of SSDs for customers, from basic laptop storage to read-intensive enterprise applications, Toshiba has optimized the XG5 series to further accelerate applications requiring enhanced random I/O performance. Featuring a PCI Express (PCIe) Gen3 x4 lane and an NVMe Revision 1.2.1 interface, the XG5-P SSDs deliver outstanding performance, achieving up to 3000 MB/s sequential read and 2200 MB/s sequential write speeds, and up to 320,000 random reads and 265,000 random write IOPS. Excellent power efficiency was maintained to achieve these data transfer rates: the XG5-P SSDs consume less than 60 mW.

As Toshiba's first 2TB M.2 SSD, the XG5-P series utilizes an in-house developed 1TB package solution, offering up to twice the maximum storage capacity of the standard XG5 series in the same 2.23mm thick, single-sided M.2 2280 module. By maintaining a single form factor for all capacities across the entire XG5 and XG5-P product family, Toshiba simplifies the design of platforms requiring flexible storage.

Designed with the reliability and stability that characterize Toshiba SSDs, the XG5-P series will be available in 1 TB and 2 TB models. Self-encrypting (SED) models compliant with TCG Opal version 2.01 will also be offered, making the XG5-P series suitable for a wide range of performance-prioritizing applications, as well as security-intensive business applications.
