The XBee 3 LTE Cat 4 smart modems are based on the Thales PLS83-W cellular chipset and are ideal for applications requiring variable bandwidth usage between 100 MB and 1 GB per month. Antenna options include two U.FL cellular diversity antennas and an integrated U.FL GNSS Bluetooth antenna, and the modems utilize GNSS and 2G/3G backup for precise location services. As part of the company's diverse XBee ecosystem, the XBee 3 can also leverage the power of the Digi Remote Manager® platform to help bring together a multitude of dispersed IoT devices into a single, intelligent, and dynamic network that can quickly deploy, monitor, and diagnose thousands of mission-critical devices from a single command point on a desktop, tablet, or phone.

To control and protect against new and evolving cyber threats and security concerns, the modems also have integrated Digi TrustFence® security, identity, and data privacy features that allow users to easily integrate the device's security, identity, and data privacy capabilities. The modules are suitable for monitoring systems, digital signage, and smart agriculture. The devices can be ordered with or without a SIM card, depending on the need.
