Innovative probeThe PMM EP-602 model is an isotropic probe designed to measure electromagnetic fields in a wide range of amplitude (from 1.5 to 1500 V/m) and frequency (from 5 kHz to 9.25 GHz), with a remarkable overload capacity, up to 3000 V/m, and a resolution of 0.01 V/m.

In addition to these industry-leading features, the PMM EP-602 probe incorporates innovative design solutions that eliminate the typical limitations of conventional probes. For example, isotropy is nearly perfect thanks to the symmetrical spherical design of the six monopoles around a central body, only 17 mm in
diameter, which houses all the electronics, the rechargeable battery, and the bidirectional fiber optic interface for data communication.

In addition to its excellent isotropic characteristics, this configuration minimizes the probe's influence on the measured field.
Its small size (53 mm) and light weight (only 25 g) allow the PMM EP-602 probe to be easily installed virtually anywhere, including GTEM cells, vehicles, cameras, and more.
The rechargeable Li-Mn coin cell battery offers excellent performance: long operating time, no memory effect, and minimal self-discharge. A full charge, using the included charger, provides up to 80 hours of operation. The battery is easily removable by lifting a small cover. There's no need to send the probe back to the factory or recalibrate it, resulting in significant time and cost savings for the user.

The probe communicates with the PC via a fiber optic cable, up to 40 m long, and an optical/RS232-USB adapter. The included software allows you to configure measurement parameters and display results. Measurements are simultaneous on the X-YZ axes, taking up to 22 samples/s, which provides a very fast response, for example, for power preamplifiers in an EMC immunity system.

Filtering, averaging, reading rate, and frequency compensation functions (when the source is known) are also included. The software displays values on all three axes, the total value, and the probe temperature. Readings can be saved as text files for later analysis. The probe can also be integrated into existing measurement environments thanks to available drivers and communication protocols.
All these advanced features make the new PMM EP-602 probe particularly suitable for immunity measurement applications in the automotive, aerospace, and military sectors, and generally in all applications with high electromagnetic field strength.

The PMM probe family is completed by the EP-600 (0.14 - 140 V/m) and EP-601 (0.5 - 500 V/m) models. For projects requiring calibration certificates, the Narda-accredited Calibration Center in Cisano s/Neva, Italy, can prepare the necessary documentation.
