Depending on the carrier SIM card inserted, the TOBY-L201 recognizes the carrier and boots onto its network. If the device is equipped with two SIM cards or a configurable SIM chip, the TOBY-L201 can be switched between carriers on the fly using a simple AT command.
The versatile TOBY-L201 module offers best-in-class download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and comes in a miniature LGA size of 24.8 x 35.6 mm. Operating from -40°C to +85°C, it is suitable for most demanding automotive, industrial, and consumer devices. The TOBY-L201 is ideal for infotainment systems, telematics control units, rugged mobile terminals, digital signal decoders, laptops, tablets, and high-speed machine-to-machine applications such as alarm panels, digital signage, mobile health, remote security, and video systems.
“No other cellular module can compete with the TOBY-L201 because of its unique combination of carrier independence and high performance in a compact, cost-effective package,” said Nikolaos Papadopoulos, President of u-blox America. “Of course, like all our cellular modules, the TOBY-L201 is compatible in design with our GSM/GPRS, HSPA/HSPA+, and CDMA modules, making it easy for customers to upgrade their existing products.”
The TOBY-L201 includes IPv4/IPv6 stacks for secure Internet of Things applications. The module is designed for easy integration with u-blox GNSS modules and chips to provide both indoor and outdoor positioning capabilities. The TOBY-L201 also includes a comprehensive set of IP protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP/IP, HTTP, FTP, and SSL.
Linux natively supports TOBY-L201 modules, while u-blox provides RIL software for Android and Embedded Windows free of charge.
The modules are produced in production sites certified by the automotive industry under the ISO/TS 16949 standard to ensure the best quality and reliability.
