Unlike conventional tools, which require lengthy wait times for capture, post-processing, and visualization, XhaulAdvisor enables a realistic, real-time testing and validation environment. Vendors and operators can quickly and accurately correlate test anomalies with network events and troubleshoot fronthaul and transport timing issues, packet flows, and channel utilization, as well as analyze M-plane, S-plane, and C/U-plane sessions.

Several operating modes are available to suit the specific needs of each application, from passive or pass-through configurations to analysis in live or post-capture environments. Synchronization can be achieved from an open fronthaul or an external timing source. Thanks to its operational flexibility, this solution can be installed on commercially available hardware.

XhaulAdvisor can be integrated with other VIAVI tools already present in the testbed - such as TM500 and TeraVM - to accelerate troubleshooting, root cause analysis, as well as the marking and isolation of problems caused by RAN, transport, or synchronization functions.

“The complex ecosystem of Open RAN vendors demands reliable testing of the various network components in the early stages of the development cycle. XhaulAdvisor significantly reduces testing time by offering the industry’s first real-time fronthaul analysis,” said Ian Langley, Senior Vice President of VIAVI’s Wireless Business Unit. “This solution is part of VIAVI’s commitment to increasing confidence in Open RAN deployments.”.
