Faced with the increasing complexity of modern communication systems, engineers require signal generators capable of creating dynamic, realistic, broadband signals with maximum fidelity. The SIGLENT SDG8000A series addresses these needs by integrating high sampling rates, wide bandwidths, and advanced sequencing capabilities for RF testing and wireless communication validation.
The SDG8000A series offers output frequencies up to 5 GHz in IQ mode, sampling rates up to 12 GSa/s via interpolation, and 16-bit vertical resolution. Available in two- and four-channel versions, each channel incorporates up to 4 Gpts of waveform memory, enabling the generation of complex, long-duration signal scenarios for advanced RF applications and wireless system development.
Thanks to SIGLENT's TrueArb technology, arbitrary waveforms are reproduced point by point with high accuracy and low jitter, preserving signal integrity. In addition, the platform supports narrow pulses up to 250 ps and advanced multi-pulse functions, ideal for applications in power electronics, semiconductors, and demanding RF testing.
One of the most outstanding features of the SDG8000A signal generator is its integrated RF and IQ generation architecture. Its internal digital modulator allows for the generation of direct RF signals up to 5 GHz without the need for external IQ hardware. Together with the optional SigIQPro software, the system supports modern communication standards such as 5G NR, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and IoT.
With modulation bandwidths up to 2 GHz, the SDG8000A series is optimized for RF front-end validation, receiver testing, amplifier characterization, and advanced wireless communications development. It also incorporates multi-tone, chirp, and PRBS signal generation, as well as high-speed serial data output up to 1.25 Gbps.
The multi-level sequencing architecture enables the creation of dynamic and realistic signal environments for interference simulation, burst communications, and system-level testing. For synchronized multichannel applications and MIMO environments, the platform offers channel offsets of less than 15 ps, external clock synchronization, differential outputs, and advanced triggering capabilities.
SIGLENT's new series of arbitrary signal generators also integrates LAN connectivity, SSD storage, and remote control via a web server, facilitating its integration into automated test systems and modern laboratories.
According to Thomas Rottach, sales and marketing director at SIGLENT Technologies, “the SDG8000A series represents a significant advancement in the company’s signal generator portfolio, offering developers a flexible platform capable of combining RF, arbitrary, digital, and pulse signal generation in a single high-performance system.”
